Matt’s involvement in the equestrian world started in 1977 when he rode his first pony Thames. In the years that followed Matt carved out a very successful career in Pony showjumping with numerous wins in both unaffiliated and BSJA competitions.

He first started judging and commentating in 1990 at his brothers & sister-in-laws show centre, Church Farm in Mawdesley, Lancashire www.churchfarmequestrian.co.uk Where Andrew & Haidee run the North of Englands most successful riding club.

In 1991, he commentated at his first BSJA show at Lancashire Jumping Club. Later in 1991 he was appointed to BSJA associates judge panel and was promoted to full status in 1993. More recently in 2005 Matt was promoted to International status and is now an FEI candidate judge

His commentating career has gone from strength to strength, starting at local unaffiliated shows, he is now part of the Horse Of The Year Show commentary team. He also regularly commentates at The Royal Highland Show, Unex Towerlands, Myerscough International Arena, Wales & West, Dabbs, The BSJA festival of Showjumping and many county and agricultural shows throughout
the summer, Royal Lancashire Show, Cheshire County & Hertfordshire County to name just a few.

His passion for pony jumping is still very much alive! Matt has commentated at every Pony of The Year Show! He also commentates at the Scottish Home Pony International and the Pony European Viewing Trials.

He has also commentated on Showjumping on Sky Sports!

Not only is Matt one of the most sought after equestrian commentators in the UK, He also enjoys his role as a member of the Equestrian Events Co Coordinating team at the very prestigious Myerscough College in Preston Lancashire.

Horses are a way of life for many of the Millin family, his sister Wendy Cook is the director of Millin Insurance Services who specialise in equestrian insurance. His brother Andrew has competed at International level and now runs his own event yard and show centre. www.churchfarmequestrian.co.uk

Matt has also recently taken on the role and joined the Equestrian Events Co-ordinating team at Myerscough International Arena near Preston. "We have a great schedule of events planned for 2007, although showjumping is my favourite equestrian discipline, we will be holding premier dressage and showing events. I am also working on various international competitions making use of the great facilities on offer at Myerscough - watch this space!!".
